Canon Pixma TS9550 in the test: multifunction printer with A3 print

test conclusion

The Canon Pixma TS9550 was top among the multifunction devices with a maximum retail price of 200 euros. It prints photos, graphics and documents with great detail – and very smudge-proof. On top of that, his printing speed was high in the test. Great: it can also print documents, images and diagrams on large DIN A3 paper. Too bad: the TS9550 does not send a fax.

Canon Pixma TS9550 in the test: Large (paper) flap

There is a color touch display on the front of the 47x35x81 centimeters (WxHxD) Canon Pixma TS9550. The user uses this to start the copying process or make settings for the printer. Too bad: The operation of the 10-centimeter display was a bit awkward in the test because not all functions could be found right away. On the other hand, the large paper compartment, which can hold 200 sheets (DIN-A4 80 g/m²) was convincing – so users don’t have to constantly insert new paper. Also good: The Canon can handle paper with a maximum weight of 300 grams/m² and it even prints on large A3 sheets.

Canon Pixma TS9550: Prints fast, well and loudly

In the most important test discipline – printing – the Pixma TS9550 cuts a fine figure. He brought photo prints to paper with great detail and high color fidelity. On top of that, he was also quick: he needed only 34 seconds for a picture in the format 10×15 centimeters. Competitors like the HP Officejet Pro 8022 needed almost three times as long with 1:25 minutes. Normal text prints were also impressive and were very easy to read in the test. On the other hand, one can complain about the background noise: With a measured volume of 10.2 sone, the Canon makes a comparatively big bargain when printing.

Canon Pixma TS9550: printing costs and features

On the other hand, its printing costs are moderate: A DIN A4 page with text costs 1.67 cents with the Canon printer, a color graphic in the same format costs 12.79 cents and a photo measuring 10×15 centimeters costs 22.22 cents . Although it doesn’t come close to models like the Epson Ecotank ET-2720 (0.28 cents per page with black text), the Pixma prints comparatively very cheaply. In addition, the completely filled black cartridge has a decent range of up to 1,500 pages. With a full color set, on the other hand, the user gets 563 pages with color graphics or 324 photos – great! The equipment of the Canon Pixma TS9550 also leaves nothing to be desired: the multifunction printer not only connects to smartphones and tablets via WLAN, but also via Bluetooth. For example, a photo can be printed from a cell phone without a network connection. Photographers, on the other hand, are happy about the SD card reader on the front of the Pixma. In this way, images can be quickly transferred from the memory card to paper without having to turn on the PC.
