Secux W20 in the test: Hello there

One thing is immediately apparent when setting up the Secux W20: German is not supported either in the installation assistant or later in the software. Anyone who decides to use the Secux W20 must have a reasonable command of the English language. But that is the only hurdle. As soon as the wallet is connected to the PC or laptop via the USB cable and the installation software has been downloaded, you can start.

The installation wizard (on the 2.8-inch touch display) guides the user through setting up the wallet. The seed phrase for restoring the wallet is generated. This is pleasantly easy, since the individual words are touched on the display. With other wallets like the Ledger Nano X, this requires annoying clicking around. By the way: You can reduce the seed phrase to twelve words so that it is easier to remember.

Many accounts, many coins

Is everything set up? Top! Now only the accounts are missing: The software can be used to open accounts where coins (and matching tokens) can be safely placed. These accounts have assigned numbers that work like addresses – quasi crypto IBANs. Strong: With the Secux wallet, up to 500 accounts can exist at the same time, with the test winner Ledger Nano X there are still 100. Secux supports over 5,000 different coins. That are many.

Better safe than sorry

Wallets are protected by self-selectable PIN codes with up to eight characters. If a thief steals a wallet, they can’t do anything with it. After a certain number of incorrectly entered codes, the wallet is deleted and must be restored.

Shipping and Receiving

Sending and receiving currencies is not a problem. Even buying currencies via the manufacturer’s software is not possible if you can make friends with third-party providers. Speaking of which: The wallet allows professional functions such as staking, but even that only works with the help of third-party providers.

Top quality: Bluetooth and touch display

The Secux wallet convinces with a chic, high-quality housing. The 2.8 touch display with color display is the icing on the cake, because it reacts very quickly and also looks neat. Externally, the Secux is one of the best hardware wallets in the test. If you want, you can control the crypto wallet with your cell phone via Bluetooth.
